Solar And Wind Power In Calgary Schools

There are some schools in Calgary which are going to be having solar panels or wind turbines. This is part of a program that Enmax has with the area’s school board. This project is Gen E and it is a pilot program which is aiming at teaching and promoting the advantages and benefits that come with conserving energy.

This is a real good way to teach and promote renewable energy and how to conserve energy. A school which has been granted solar panels or which has been given wind turbines could have kids experience first hand what these alternative energy tools actually do.

Sean Marchetto is the science consultant of the Catholic School District in Calgary. On this, he says, “This is an example of stewardship in action.” And he is right. A lot of students have been able to easily absorb what these solar panels and wind turbines are all about.
