Where else would the sun be shining brightest but on the desert? Yes, in a place where it is very hot and there are no trees and no towering structures, the sun is really going to pour out its power there. And the desert is the very place for that.

With that in mind, the FPL Energy LLC unit of FPL Group Inc.’s had already deemed it best that they send out an application to build a solar plant in one of the Deserts in California – the Mojave. The application stated that they would be the owners of the plant and they would also be responsible for the construction and the operation of the solar facility which is projected to produce 250 megawatts of power.

FPL Energy’s plant would be named the Beacon Solar Energy Project and the company disclosed that it would be taking up around 2000 acres of land.
