Solar Water Heaters Required In Hawaii

This should be the first time that I have heard about solar water heaters being a requirement. Well, this should surely be a surprise for, indeed, this is the very first time that a state in the US has passed a law that requires all new homes to come with a solar water heater.

So how did this happen? Well, one Republican had signed a bill and made that into a law. This Republican was Hawaii’s governor, Linda Lingle. In a report, it was mentioned that such a law stated that come the year 2010, all homes in Hawaii should be coming with solar water heaters which actually contribute a lot in helping people save energy and save on their expenses.

The law also did continue to disclose that if you are planning on having a single-family home, you would have to make sure that you do have a solar water heater because you may not be given a building permit.
