This coming April 19th, students of the Pasadena Unified School District would be able to learn more about solar power and solar energy through a workshop. The event would be held at the La Pintoresca Branch Library and it would be for two hours. The workshop would be for upper elementary students and middle school students.

John Williams is the chair of the Leadership Pasadena Class’ 2008 Environmental Education Team and this group is going to be responsible for the workshop. He mentioned, “Our project will demonstrate the benefits of solar energy and create support for increasing the community’s awareness and use of green power and energy.” He added, “Our goal ultimately is to develop a solar energy curriculum unit for teachers to use in their classrooms to give the students a well-rounded understanding of how solar energy fits into the overall energy picture.”

If there were more workshops like this, more and more students would be likely to learn more about solar power and the benefits that it brings.
