Sony’s Solar Battery

So okay. There are plenty of devices in the market right now that make use of solar power and store the converted energy in solar batteries. That way, the gadget could make use of the power even at night. Now, in a report I came across just today, I read that Sony Corporation has been able to create a solar battery that does not make use of silicon. Hmmm… That looks like something new. The report did disclose that it is not first hand that they learned about this but they actually got the information from the Nikkei, a newspaper.

If this indeed is true, then it would mean that Sony could create solar batteries that would be less pricey. The thing is, if a solar battery uses silicon, the price of manufacturing these batteries would certainly go up compared to solar batteries without silicon. The report did continue that there is still no word from Sony whether such a creation would reach the market.
