Did you know that up to 80% of new mothers experience some type of baby blues? However, postpartum depression, something often chalked up to baby blues, is really much more than that.
If you feel that you may be living with PPD (postpartum depression), there is help for you. In the United States, there is a 1-800 number you can call for resources. Go to Speak Up When You’re Down to get this information.
For everyone, there is the The Online PPD Support Group, which helps you connect with others no matter where you live or what time of day you need to talk. That’s the beauty of the Internet. There is also PSI: Postpartum Support International, which also has an Chat with an Expert section. Of course, there’s also the Postpartum Progress blog, which gives me ideas and inspiration for some of the posts here at Womb Within.
We can’t forget that when a woman is living with PPD, the dads also have to deal with it. This site, Postpartum Dads, helps dads and families.
