Sperm donor shortage in Britain

Since changing its laws regarding confidentiality with sperm donation, Britain has begun to experience a sperm donor shortage. Because many men donated sperm because they could be anonymous, now that they can be identified by their offspring, they are hesitant about donating any more. The Netherlands is experiencing a similar problem, again after eliminating the confidentiality clause.
In Britain, men aren’t paid for their sperm as they are in the United States.
