First there were tomatoes, then peanuts, and pistachios, now it’s spices being recalled for… you guessed it salmonella poisoning. Over thirty people have been affected by the latest salmonella threat.
Union International Food Co. expanded a spice recall to include all Lian How brand and Uncle Chen brand sauces, oil and oil blends noting that the products may be contaminated with salmonella.
Most of the illnesses have been in the Western United States, involving people who have eaten in Asian restaurants that use Lian How or Uncle Chen spices and sauces.
