Spicing Things Up With Ginger

Yesterday, I wrote about getting lively through grilling — and I have to tell you I ended up inspiring myself! We BBQ’d last night — woohoo. I was careful to marinate, following orders from my registered dietician. Actually, we did the easy thing and let the chicken and shrimp steep for a while in ready-made Italian dressing.
We pierced onions, green peppers, and meat on wooden skewers — kicking ourselves later for forgetting about the huge basket of squash from our garden. If you try this at home — add fresh chunks of pineapple — we forgot that too. And use a brush to keep painting marinade on the meats and vegetables while you’re grilling.
But the real coup of the evening was our discovery that dipping everything in GINGER DRESSING adds totally rockin’ flavor! Mmmm. Talk about getting lively at the dinner table! Why didn’t I discover this years ago? Naturally Fresh is our favorite brand. How about yours? Next week, I’ll tell you more about research on how ginger has been shown to be effective against ovarian cancer.
