Spicy Mustard Panko Crusted Chicken Strips

I’ve used the spicy mustard and panko bread crumbs combination on pork chops quite a few times before and it always turned out delicious. I figured today I’d use chicken. But instead of the regular boneless chicken breasts, I decided to slice them in strips to impress the kids.

INGREDIENTS :
5 boneless chicken breasts, slice in strips
1/2 cup of spicy mustard
3 tbsp of water
3 cups of panko breadcrumbs (find it at Asian/Oriental stores)
1 cup or more flour
Italian Seasoning
garlic powder
salt & pepper for seasoning
oil for frying
Heat up oil in a non-stick frying pan.
In a bowl, combine flour and sprinkles of Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt & pepper.
In another bowl, combine the spicy mustard and water.
In another bowl, combine the panko crumbs, sprinkles of Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt & pepper.
Drench the chicken strips in the flour mixture first, then onto the mustard bowl, then onto the panko breadcrumbs. Repeat the steps for all the chicken strips.
Fry the coated chicken strips in oil. You’ll probably have to do this in batches.
For the sauce, I just whisk together a few spoonfuls of mayonnaise and ketchup.
This recipe will also work with pork chops, and fish fillets. If you didn’t know there is mustard in the ingredients, you’ve be none the wiser once you taste it because you couldn’t tell at all. It’s really good
