SplashShopper - A Cool Mobile Tool for Busy Families

I am a Mom on the move and have become extremely dependent on my Treo 700w phone. I even got a really cool red leather case (Sena Cases) for it so I can easily keep track of and protect my phone. I can check my email, surf the web, text and twitter on my phone. It really is an extension of me!

The makers of some really cool mobile software called SplashShopper asked if I wanted to review their product - of course the answer was yes!

SplashShopper is a great application for managing to-do and shopping lists, from holiday gift lists to grocery shopping for family get-togethers to keeping track of DVD rentals. You can learn more about it at www.splashdata.com/splashshopper.

Since I cannot find my cable that lets me sync my phone with my computer, I thought it was so cool that I could have the mobile version of the software send via SMS directly to my phone. Literally 30 seconds later my phone beeped and I had the download link. The download/install took less than two minutes and I was off and running.

SplashShopper lets you manage all your shopping lists from books you want to pick up (or have checked out), clothes, gifts, groceries, a travel checklist, and more. No more need for a bazillion scraps of paper in my purse  with list scrawled on them.

Every Sunday I make my menu plan for the week,  and it just so happened that I needed to go grocery shopping today. I entered the items on my list into my phone using the SplashShopper software - many of the items were already on the master list. You can add items to the list, note the store you want to purchase it at, add the price (if you know it or once you are at the store) and the software will keep a running tally of your grocery bill. Basically, it took me less than 10 minutes to get my whole list in there and to save it off for modification next time I have to go.

At the store, the SplashShopper was easy to use. As I put items in my cart, I checked off the box in the list and the item was sent to the bottom of the list - making it very easy to make sure I hadn’t missed anything!

You can also sync the software with your desktop making it even easier to track prices and manage your lists.

This is truly a cool and very useful tool for families like ours!
