Spray the Alzheimer’s away?

Israeli scientists have created a nasal spray consisting of viruses that have the possibility of easing the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease. These viruses, known as bacteriophages, break up the beta amyloid proteins that clog the brain in Alzheimer’s disease. It’s early days yet but the results are looking promising according to research Professor Beka Solomon of Tel Aviv University. Initial testing on mice with a disease similar to Alzheimer’s has shown an improvement in memory, learning, and a restoration of their sense of smell.
The scientists are hoping for the spray to be on sale for humans within seven years…
