Squatting Is Good

One of my favorite exercises, albeit painful is the Squats. And when I say painful, I don’t mean that I’m hurting myself. It’s one of those really good butt exercises that is a little tormenting. Maybe a little bit. I’m really sucking in explaining, aren’t I? One must really know how to do squats properly to completely benefit from it. If you keep doing it, you’ll notice the difference and you’ll like it. Trust me. Even Eva Longoria swears by it. I’ve seen her on shows where she gushes about doing squats before doing a photoshoot. So what are the proper ways to do squats?

Feet apart. Your feet must be about hip width. Not too wide.

Back straight.

Bend your knees slowly, like you’re about to sit on a chair.

Don’t lean forward. Don’t worry about your butt slightly sticking out. I know it sounds weird but that that’s the proper way of doing squats.

On the way up, don’t forget to squeeze your boo-tay!

I like to hold 6(3 each) pounds weights, arms stretched out forward, while doing my squats. Squatting really works. It’s one of the best butt exercises actually. I try to do 2 sets of 30 counts in my routine. Even the 30 Minutes Tae-Bo includes 20 seconds of squats. But that one is hard coz you have to hold it down for 20 seconds.

It’s a good exercise to do while watching TV. Like Idol or Dancing With The Stars. 2 sets of 30 counts won’t take that long but you’ll feel it the next day. Keep doing it and I assure you, results will show.
