Repairs to squeaky hardwood floors scares everyone, after checking through some of the sites there a couple that I think will make us feel it is possible to do ourselves.

The first one is a site that I feel makes you feel that you can do the job without ruining your floors.  It does however push a product called Squeeek No More, on the web site you will find three video’s one on how to counter snap the screws into the hardwood floors.

The screws are 1/8 inch in diameter and 3 inches long, you will need #2 recess square head driver and you must first pre-drill a small hole to guide the screws in.  The screw will break off 3/8 inch below the floor.  Wood filler will be required to fill the remaining hole.

To see the cost of this product go to the following web site, this will include the counter snap fixture, the recess square head driver, 50 screws and instructions.
