Stand up for your rights as dog owners!

There is a disturbing effort happening all over the world these days – and I believe as dog owners, we need to stand up for our rights, and the rights of our dogs!
Animal rights organizations (I won’t even name names here – they don’t need any more publicity) are campaigning to take away our rights to own dogs. To own purebred dogs. To own any animal!
If you think I’m exaggerating, check out some of the big animal-rights websites – there is a little section called “no birth nation”. What does that mean? It means they want to no longer have any animals in “captivity” and that includes our house dogs!
This appalls and disgusts me! Can you really tell me that my pampered dogs, who get home-made food, who sleep on my bed, who get daily massages – would really be happier living on the streets, scavenging for garbage?
If you’re as upset as I am at this state of affairs – take action! There are things you can do to protect your rights as a dog owner.
First of all – the National Animal Interest Alliance (NAIA) is working towards humane treatment of animals, but unlike the other big animal-rights organizations, they’re pro-pet. NAIA is worth supporting!
Let your government know that you won’t tolerate biased legislation that takes away your rights as a dog owner.
Do you enjoy watching the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show every year? There is a campaign underway to cancel the broadcast. Send a quick email to the USA Network and let them know that you support and enjoy the show. Think it can’t be cancelled? Think again! Crufts (the biggest dog show in the UK) has been taken off the air because of an animal-rights campaign!
Don’t support businesses or publications that support the animal-rights organzations.
Take action – it’s worth it to keep our dogs where they belong, sleeping happily in our houses!

That is crazy! If dogs, like cats, were allowed to roam the streets, the number of animals would multiply to a staggering number. They can’t spay and neuter themselves! Besides, domestic dogs are nothing like wolves or wild dogs — most of them couldn’t survive on the streets.
That’s exactly how I feel Del!
I have seen what happens when you let your animals roam free. I have been charged at least twice a week when I was walking my dog. Just two weeks ago my english pointer was attacked by a pug!!!!!!!!! Not only will these animals mutlipy but so many other things will happen. This is crazy!!!!!! I need to take a deep breath and work on my letter to Congress and every one else that will listen to me. Thanks for the heads up.
