Starting My Smiggle Journal

January 7, 2009 by Heather Goldsmith

I received a couple of journals for Christmas, which I shared with you in a photo in a previous entry. Well, today I began writing in the purple Smiggle one. It’s so lovely. But I wasn’t able to give it special time for my usual starting ritual. I’ll have to put that off until I can have a moment alone. I had to fit in an entry with the little guy wiggling all over the seat next to me and going on about his tummy. This isn’t normal behaviour, so I made the journal entry a quick one and hope to get some time for a proper beginning to my lovely new journal.

    Hi Heather;

    Just thought I’d mention your link to the Starting Ritual doesn’t work. I found it by putting ‘Rituals’ in the search box and scrolling down.

    Have to say that’s a really cool idea about using a sall calendar in the front cover. Using a starting ritual is something I need to try.

    At the moment I use Moleskine journals, both the sketch and watercolour versions. I have a stack of them and want o use them up befre buying any other.

    I usually paste a photo or print inside my covers. it’s big enough to cover the page completely so it looks like endppapers like in handprinted printed books. They use marbelized paper for this, I use some of my own photos printed out.

    Have a great 2009!

  2. Hi Bonny,
    thanks for letting me know about the link. It’s all fixed now. Yeah, I still need to get my usual things done, as I’ve been super busy today. Will try for tonight instead. I love the idea of using photos as endpapers. Very cool. Thanks for your comment. ;-)
