State Delegate – Me

I was elected to be a Texas State Delegate for the Democratic Party on Saturday. First I was a precinct delegate and now I’ll represent my county at the state convention.
How cool is that?
I’ve never been able to participate quite this deeply in politics before because I was always reporting on it for newspapers. Reporters report, they don’t participate. So this year, I’ll participate and then report on what it’s like to participate – to you.
So, I got up and made a little speech and got elected to go be a Hillary delegate.
I have cousin in Austin, I’m hoping I can crash at his place so I don’t have to pay for a hotel. It’s delegates pay your own way, which is cost prohibitive if you’re poor. No wonder poor people don’t participate. They can’t afford it.
I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to go represent the State of Texas at the , but . . .
It’s in Denver in August . . .

Tracee, this is probably so cool for Ainsley – you’re actually showing her that her voice can be heard. That’s so cool.
Congratulations! That’s really neat.
It was actually remarkably easy. It was surprising how easy.
In fact, in my new county they have had a difficult time finding people who would go. Apparently for all the bitching and complaining, no one cared enough to go vote.
You go girl! I saw J. today at Books-a-Million and he said you’re also going to speak at BlogHer! How cool.
sshhhh I hadn’t announced. I’m letting it soak in.
Nice! I’ll bet you have rad blog fans in Denver that would put you up, or girlfriends who may be willing to carpool with you up there….hint, hint.
PS: Your hair is too damned cute!
