Staying up too late on a school night

earlysun.jpgSome nights (like this one), the kids have stayed up way too late, lots of things going on, yet they still have to go to school tomorrow, and, you have to go to work.

I don’t have much advice, but, I hope you do, as I’m going to be living it here in a few hours.

On days like tomorrow, we try to come home right after school, and, work, and have a simple dinner. The kids get their homework done, but, we don’t take any extra time to work on projects, or, other things that aren’t due the next day.

Everyone goes to bed early, and, we may even leave some of the evening chores undone in order to get everyone to bed early.

Morning comes all too quickly, how do you get back on track when there are grumpy kids, and, grumpy grown-ups?

  1. I hate it when those days come on a Monday, because you still have to get through the rest of the week. Mainly we try, like you, to make sure bedtime comes a little early the next night. Since our daughter usually rides the school bus, we also usually drive her to school the next day, which give us up to an extra 25 minutes in the morning.
