Sticky Situation

One of the things I don’t enjoy about the hot weather is how difficult it makes writing in my journal. Don’t forget I’m on the other side of the world. In Perth, Western Australia today it’s something like 40 degrees Celsius. I haven’t checked for the latest weather update. All I know is that it’s hot.
Earlier today I was sitting in my favourite café writing in my journal. My arm stuck to the page as I leant to write. Ugh! This time I pulled out the little napkin they’d put under my cup and put it across the page where my arm leans. Other times I will remember to leave a scrap sheet of paper to absorb the stickiness. If I don’t do this the ink doesn’t always like to write on the paper that’s been damp from my sweat.
What do you do about writing in the hot weather? Is it a problem for you? Please share any hints or tips you have in the comments section below.

Well, at 25 degrees F, I’m not too worried about sweat today, but when it is hot outside, I like to go find a cool stream to write by. The air around a stream is always cooler, and I can dip my feet in the water, it keeps me from over heating.
Have a great day and stay cool if you can.
Heather, I never realized that you are in Australia. Sorry, but I have no hints for you. It is 19 degrees F. here so I can’t even remember what it’s like to be hot. lol
Still loving your blog!
Hi Sunny Daydreame,
That sounds just lovely to me. Not too many streams around here, either. Even if I found one, it would more than likely be dry. We’re in a drought right now. Love the idea, though. Just thinking about it makes me feel cooler. Thanks for commenting.
Hi Zura,
Lol, that’s ok. Most of the time the weather doesn’t really bother me, but it’s been stinking hot these last few days. Sounds lovely where you are, especially right now. Thanks for leaving a comment.
