I would like to start off by stating that I am Pro-Life. It was mentioned way up the list that condoms are expensive. This is true, but people seeking protection, (as my wife and I did) could go to their local free clinic. It'll be in the phone book. They usually keep a large bowl of condoms there which are free to anyone who asks. I too believe that women are cast in an evil light too often. There are stories out there also of women who believe getting an abortion is nothing. These women are the ones alot of people look to as the "norm" of those who get abortions. A little research will prove that this isn't true. There are some truly some heart-wrenching stories out there about women who regret what they've done for the rest of their lives. There are also alot of women who are pushed into it by so-called "loved ones". Husbands, boyfriends, etc. Another big factor for alot of abortion is the truth. Who to trust and who not to. Planned Parenthood should not be trusted 100%. Anyone seeking an abortion should look not only on the pro-choice websites, but on the pro-life ones as well. If I may, www.abortiontv.com is a good site. It has alot of letters written by women who have had abortions as well as letters from abortionists themselves. In closing, I will admit that I believe that we would all be better off if abortion were abolished. I also believe that alot of the statistics out there about illegal abortions that would happen if Roe were overturned, are exagerated.

Let me begin by saying that I am most definitely PRO-LIFE, though I agree that making abortions illegal is not the complete solution simply because you are always going to have someone who will perform illegally plus you will have women trying to do it themselves. There does need to be better education, and our healthcare situation is not ideal by far. I see alot of abuse of healthcare, for example the use of emergency services when they are not necessary, and that is just the tip of the iceberg. This is driving up the cost of healthcare for everyone. I am not trying to cast stones here, but I know of people living off the government, whether on SSI or assistance, who quite frankly could work. Not every person on assistance is abusing but, there are alot that do. They need to do a better job of checking up on these people. It really is such a big mess. I know I'm getting off the subject here, but it is all sort of interconnected, until they take the bull by the horns, nothing is going to get much better. I work in healthcare and I can not see how someone who calls themselves a healthcare provider can slaughter babies, that is what they are doing. Yes an unplanned pregnancy is very difficult to deal with, emotionally and financially, but abortion is not the answer.

I am truly against abortions. I dont believe that a woman should kill a baby who did not have a chance to experience life, But if its best for her and her child than maybe she should. I think that abortions should become illegal but than again I think they should just reduce the amount of abortions each year. Society needs to make a difference for the new years that follow

As a society, we obsess about the life of the unborn while failing miserably to protect and cherish the lives of the born. We do not provide health care for all children. Over two billion living children in the world go hungry each day. Millions die from preventable diseases, from lack of clean water or medicines. Thousands are killed in wars, destroyed by bombs, maimed by land mines or shot down as collateral damage in conflicts they did not create. We act as if a child's right to life terminates at birth.

"I was on birth control when I became pregnant for the twins. I took it religiously - however, the doctor forgot to inform me about the whole contraceptive/antibiotic factor. Next thing I knew I was pregnant."

- This strikes a bell with me. I'd been on the pill for three months when me and my housemates were chatting about various friends and relatives who'd gotten pregnant accidentally - and one of the stories was about a housemate's friend who'd gotten drunk (not outrageously so, just tipsy) during the first seven days after the break and found herself pregnant.

The only thing that the doctor at the clinic warned me about was medicines containing St. John's Wort. She gave me antibiotics after putting in my IUD (which then fell out), and told me that it wasn't 100% (or, 99.8%, rather), so to keep taking the pill.

...I think I'm lucky.

Dominique, that's a huge "at least" you're talking about there. Most women with children who are already in a trying situation don't see it as an "at least" thing to bring a baby in the world, and then give it away, and then non-chalantly going back to "their" family with no afterthought. Pro-lifers assume that women who have abortions are somehow heartless, lacking of emotion. It's an awful thing for most of those mothers - and it's not your place to say "I couldn't live with myself" unless you've been in one of those situations.

Can't we all just agree that fewer abortions need to be performed? Can't we just agree that attacking the problem from it's root is the best way?

I believe that abortion is wrong... unless delivering the baby will kill the mother... I was shocked to find out that the majority of women having abortions are mothers who have children. I could never have an abortion the gulit i felt afterwards would kill me. I believe that every child diserves the right to life. At least have the child and then give it up for adoption. That way a caring, loving family that maybe can't have childern could care and love that child even though its not theirs by blood. They took it in and loved it and fed it and educated it.

Really? Did you see Babyland the other day on TV where all those poverty stricken unwed black mommies who aren't being provided for? The babies are dying because of no prenatal care, no way out of poverty.

With healthcare I think we'd prevent millions of abortions - but not overturning Roe v. Wade. It's still state law - lots of states would chose to keep it.

What ever your financial situation is God will provide for you if you have faith in him. A child is never a mistake and abortion is not the answer. I am very close to a couple that because of money and just the fear of raising a child opted to make what they feel now is the worst mistake they ever made. Like most of the rest of the world I do not have all the answers but the options before us now are not what was intended for us. I believe that if "Roe vs Wade" is abolished there will be illegal abortions but I also think that millions will be saved because of it.

"Joel Hunter is a conservative, Republican megachurch pastor in Central Florida. He's giving the Democrats some free advice, if they care to hear it: Even if you stick with Roe V. Wade, you can show evangelicals that you are the pro-life party by showing us how you will actually reduce abortions---and how you will support "life" in other areas besides abortion."

The low-down is this: The GOP sucks at preventing abortion because they are using it as a distraction tactic - distracting Pro-Lifers by using their emotionally overwhelming love for the babies.

Healthcare REALLY prevents abortion. It encourages women to keep from getting pregnant and it encourages women to carry the baby to term for adoption. So far it's prevented 9 million abortions. Think about it.
