Stop! Before You Begin That New Year’s Crusade-Get in Touch

Just a few words of kindness and advice before the clock strikes the midnight hour and the New Year begins…
Take a few moments to meditate and think about what your resolutions for 2009 will-and should–be.
It seems we all tilt toward the unrealistic and extreme when ushering in the New Year and trying to create a more perfect self.
I really do urge you to take a few moments for yourself before you head out–or in–to celebrate the official “turning of the page” to 2009.
Think about what is realistic, and what will be achievable for you in 2009. My practices have been a success with regards to establishing what I think will be reachable goals for myself in the coming year.
I don’t expect to be flawless. But I am looking inside–with the help of my yoga and meditation–to determine what may be the healthiest solutions for me.
Go ahead and make your lists. But be mindful in doing so. Create your own expectations for yourself with an eye towards what is real and true. We aren’t all going to become Barbie dolls at the stroke of midnight, nor should we. How boring would that be? But we can all do what is best and most loving for ourselves, if we just take the time to immerse ourselves for a moment and be aware of our choices, what our bodies want, and what is actually possible.
So let’s head into the New Year together with one thought in mind: we are all beautiful and valuable. We can all improve in some way. But let’s all choose the best way to enter the New Year, and create a more beautiful life for ourselves.
Peace and Happy New Year.
