Stormy Saturday

Stormy Saturday

This Saturday we had a humdinger of a storm here in Perth, Western Australia. The rain came down, the wind blew, lightning struck and thunder rolled. It was frightening, exhilarating, and wet. The roads were covered in water. Drivers had to slow to avoid traffic accidents and prevent stalled vehicles. There were several cars pulled over to the side of the road. My neighbour’s house was struck by lightning. The concrete from her verandah scattered over her front lawn.

All this stormy activity reminded me of the times I’ve thought of as stormy in my life. There are times that hit just as hard and devastate as quickly as the storm this Saturday, but once the storm is over there is a sense of renewal and refreshing. Spend some time writing about the storms in your life. Describe the storm/s and the direct outcome on your life, but investigate the long term outcomes, too. Do we need life storms every now and then? Would we stay the same or change without the storms?

I hope you enjoy this journal writing prompts. Please write any comments in the section below.
