Story on a surgery that may help diabetic neuropathy at Diabetes Notes

Neuropathy is pain from the nerves - the most common types that we hear about are postherpetic neuralgia, which can happen after shingles, and diabetic neuropathy, a complication of diabetes.

Unfortunately, there aren’t really any effective treatment for neuropathic pain yet, and the chronic pain can really affect a person’s quality of life. I saw an ad once for a clinic that claims to treat neuropathic pain and their image was that of a barefoot about to step on a group of tacks, pointy ends up.

Kendra over at Diabetes Notes has an interesting post called New surgery to alleviate pain due to diabetic neuropathy now being studied, where she reviews a study about a treatment that just might help those who have developed the disorder.
