Strawberry Swirl Cake

 This past weekend we had a party at our house and I made a great Spring cake.  I got the recipe from the Kraft Foods Website.

It is simple but very good.  There is only a few ingredients:  white cake mix, whatever you need to make the cake, strawberry gelatin, sour cream, powdered sugar, whipped cream and strawberries.  If you wish, instead of using a white cake mix, you can make one from scratch.  I personally can’t tell the difference and it just make life a little easier.

One problem I had in making the cake was that it doesn’t cook level.  The side with just the white cake rises highger than the side that has the gelatin mixed in with it.  You have to be creative when you are putting the cake together, but once I added the icing it actually looked fine.
