Subway is at it again with helping children eat better with a great ($$) giveaway for everyone! This time, SUBWAY wants to reward you for dining with them that benefits you and your school – the SUBWAY School Rewards! You earn money for your school by linking pre-loaded SUBWAY Card(s) to your school’s name, and using those cards to pay when you dine at any SUBWAY restaurant!
And as a bonus - SUBWAY is giving away a $100 gift card to one fabulous reader so you can link it to your school and help spread the word! The more families are signed up at your school, the more your school benefits.
The great thing is that anyone can participate…give teachers, Aunt Sue or Grandmom a pre-loaded and pre-linked card for the holidays and they can give back to your school all year long! Share the info with your PTA, the football coaches and anyone else that can help you champion this healthy and worthwhile initiative at your school! Alright!
Don’t you just love the commitment that SUBWAY has to kids’ health? Well, here’s another promo from SUBWAY. The Random Acts of Fitness Kits to help combat child obesity in the classroom. It’s an interactive kit that your child’s teacher can use as a curriculum tool to help students learn to be healthy and active throughout the year. The Kit includes teacher planner, ideas to spark discussion and a cool monthly “Classroom Challenge” that could get them featured on SUBWAYkids.com! Awesome, right? I’ve seen one of the kits and I tell you this is something I would love my child’s teacher to use in her classroom. So let your child’s teacher know about this (more info here). Hey, if you know a teacher who’s already using one, shout out!

So onto the give-away. One winner will receive a $100 SUBWAY GIFT CARD, to help you get started in the SCHOOL REWARDS program. In the comments below, just share an encouragement to your child or a student you know (names maybe withheld) to keep them healthy and ever-excited for school!
- One entry per person per day.
- It’s open to residents of the US only.
- Contest ends 11:59 midnight EST on November 15, 2009
- ONE winner will be randomly chosen and announced via blog and email the week after.
- If the winner does not reply within one week, he/she forfeits her winnings and an alternate entry will be chosen.

We aren’t to school yet but we are learning how to read. When my daughter cleans up her room I let her pick out the book she wants to read. So I get a clean kids room and my daughter to practice reading. Win, win for me.
I encourage my kids to be creative and channel their artistic side.
I read with my grandchildren whenever we get the chance.
Keep on reading!
When they are little it is easy to keep them excited, when they are older not so much so bribery works.
To keep them reading, read together then let them choose what they like- if it’s manga or comics, so be it.
I encourage my son to go after his passion for folklore.
I’d tell the kids to be themselves.
I always make sure kids get some play time each day. Kids need the chance to just be kids!
trust your instincts
I make casseroles that contain shred or chopped vegetables and beans to encourage children to eat more healthy stuff.
Stay in school. You will get a better job with a better education.
I take my children to the library every week and encourage them to pick out a variety of books. This keeps them interested in reading and learning.
Good luck great prize
Always eat a healthy breakfast before you go to school to give you the fuel you need to start the day.
