Subway is at it again with helping children eat better with a great ($$) giveaway for everyone! This time, SUBWAY wants to reward you for dining with them that benefits you and your school – the SUBWAY School Rewards! You earn money for your school by linking pre-loaded SUBWAY Card(s) to your school’s name, and using those cards to pay when you dine at any SUBWAY restaurant!
And as a bonus - SUBWAY is giving away a $100 gift card to one fabulous reader so you can link it to your school and help spread the word! The more families are signed up at your school, the more your school benefits.
The great thing is that anyone can participate…give teachers, Aunt Sue or Grandmom a pre-loaded card for the holidays and they can give back to your school all year long! Share the info with your PTA, the football coaches and anyone else that can help you champion this healthy and worthwhile initiative at your school! Alright!
Don’t you just love the commitment that SUBWAY has to kids’ health? Well, here’s another promo from SUBWAY. The Random Acts of Fitness Kits to help combat child obesity in the classroom. It’s an interactive kit that your child’s teacher can use as a curriculum tool to help students learn to be healthy and active throughout the year. The Kit includes teacher planner, ideas to spark discussion and a cool monthly “Classroom Challenge” that could get them featured on SUBWAYkids.com! Awesome, right? I’ve seen one of the kits and I tell you this is something I would love my child’s teacher to use in her classroom. So let your child’s teacher know about this (more info here). Hey, if you know a teacher who’s already using one, shout out!

So onto the give-away. One winner will receive a $100 SUBWAY GIFT CARD, to help you get started in the SCHOOL REWARDS program. In the comments below, just share an encouragement to your child or a student you know (names maybe withheld) to keep them healthy and ever-excited for school!
- One entry per person per day.
- It’s open to residents of the US only.
- Contest ends 11:59 midnight EST on November 15, 2009
- ONE winner will be randomly chosen and announced via blog and email the week after.
- If the winner does not reply within one week, he/she forfeits her winnings and an alternate entry will be chosen.

Go outside and play! Actually I don’t have to tell them that, they play on the trampoline and in the woods. They get a good workout everyday.

I encourage my kids to learn through play.
“Go outside and play” is said to encourage my kids to get moving.

Thank you for the giveaway.
Please remember that portion control will help with that tummy you keep complaining about and becoming more active. I know you can do it and I will do it with you to get my tummy down too! We’ll do this together.
pay attention to your teachers
Eat your vegetables and drink more water and study hard
I encourage young children to read and learn all they can!
My 3rd grade son struggles with reading which makes all schoolwork more difficult. I tell him each and every day that his best IS good enough. I have to work to keep him positive and encouraged.
Spend lots of time at the library and read every day.
For snacks I give my girls vegetables rather than processed foods. Of course the occasionally get goldfish but they would turn them down for cherry tomatoes any day.
Make sure you get plenty of sleep.
I set a good example for them (I read every day and rarely turn on the TV), and I volunteer frequently at their school so they know how important their education is to me. And it doesn’t hurt that I also point out a certain member of our family (who they already don’t like) and use him as an example of what happens if you think you’re so smart that you don’t need to go to college or actually work FOR somebody. If he doesn’t motivate them to study hard and do something with their lives, NOBODY can!
Keep up the good work! I know you can do it if you keep walking in the mornings!
I tell my grandchildren how smart they are and they can learn anything!

My 3rd grade son really struggles with reading which makes all his schoolwork more difficult. I tell him each and every day that his best IS good enough. I have to work to keep him positive and encouraged.
My daughter (6th grade) was discouraged that she didn’t make honor roll. I ensured her that I was proud of her regardless. Then, we identified small mistakes that accounted for low grades, and discussed how attention to detail is so important. I let her know that I’ll always be proud of her if she tries her best. I’ve already seen an improvement in her schoolwork since our little pep talk!
try your best
