Summer schedules

summer.gifHappy Summer!

Or, close to it, if your kids are still in school like mine are.

Actually, it may not even be summer where you are, but, I’m sure you can appreciate the change of routine many of us are facing here in our summer months.

Summer can be a mixed blessing for working parents, and, there are even times where going to school might actually be easier by the time you juggle kids’ camps, sports, and, social obligations.

If your kids are still very little, you’ll understand what I’m talking about before you know it.

If your kids are older, maybe you’re thinking how fast it all goes, but, there’s other things to worry about when they have more freedom in the warm summer weather.

I wish everyone an easy, and, manageable routine, so you can get to enjoy the season, too.

This summer we are doing things a little different. We have not one but 2 nannies trading off (cheap teenage labor) and then some week long away camps, and some day camp. Hopefully no boredom will ensue! The cost of daycamp nearly sucked me dry last summer.

We are in the first week of summer and I am already frazzled!! This week, the Hungry Toddler started a new school, I started an exercise boot camp two mornings a week, and the 7yo is in day camp. None of these things are located near each other. The HT’s new school is near my work, but that’s not too helpful tomorrow when I have to drive practically to my office to school, then drive practically back home to the gym, then drive back to work. Plus a day camp drop off somewhere in there.

    Whew!
