An ed is the idol that takes cover your life under the guise of a coping mechanism.

How do you know when you have one? When you begin to rationalize your food choices, and you stop being honest with yourself and others about your nutritional intake.

You begin to hide things, lie to people you love, and push those away who care for you. You do this in order to fulfill the demands of the seductive, sweetly enticing voice in your head. It progresses to consume you. Like an alcoholic, it soon spirals out of control and it fills your thoughts 24/7. Then ed’s close friends, depression and anxiety, take up residence an slowly eat away at what is left of your soul.

That’s how you know you have an eating disorder.
