This means 24 states will go to their party’s primaries and elect delegates to go to their party’s national convention. The candidate in each party with the most delegates will be that party’s 2008 Presidential Candidate. (Sadly Texas isn’t one of those states).
Anticipation and excitement, that’s the mood in my house during election season.
What will happen? Who will take it? How many people will throw aside apathy and use their democratic right to vote?
I am thrilled this year at the numbers of young people, traditionally apathetic non-voters, who are turning out to vote in caucuses and primaries. Good for Barack for seducing young adults into the political scene.
Go out there and vote your hearts out people. I know who I want. But, I am always most happy when people vote. It makes me feel . . . patriotic!
I’m a huge fan of this imaginary policy: If you don’t vote – Don’t bitch. If you don’t vote, just shut up for the next four years.
Apathy Tip: If you failed to register in time for your primary, please take this opportunity to register right this very second for the general election in November.
You usually have to register 30 days prior to an election to participate. It’s so simple – just supply your name and address on a registration card at the library, city hall, court house or DMV.
