b5media is trying out a new image application and we could really use your feedback! Here’s a picture of Supernanny, Jo Frost with Super Chef, Rachel Ray. Check it out and then fill out the poll and/or leave your comments in the comments section. I’ve come to respect my readers opinions here on Supernanny Rules and would really appreciate your feedback.

I think this is going to be a great thing for us!

  2. Kate says:

    Yes, but why?

  3. Sandy says:

Although I love the idea of a image database, I find the resizing very distracting. Also, although I do have flash (and can view the YouTube videos), on my AOL/IE browser, all I see is a big white space. I worry that other readers will have the same (less than satisfying) experience.

(I can view it in Firefox without a problem.)

  4. Julie says:

I love it! I suggested that the little guy peeking up above the picture be Brad Pitt, but hey, this will work. :)

I think it looks very professional and I like the “more” feature telling us where the picture was taken and what it’s about. I also like the options under the little guy. I think having the ability to email an image you like to someone is awesome.

The resizing thing doesn’t bother me a bit, but I am viewing it in Firefox so maybe that makes a difference. Overall, I give this a thumbs up! :)

  5. Tracey says:

I think it is fine. I am not sure how it will affect me, but I am game for just about anything…right??

  6. Cyndi L says:

I really don’t like it at all. I could live with it if I had to, but please don’t make me :-)

  7. So will our images (photographs of our work that we upload) do that ‘puffing up’ thing?

  8. Does this mean that all of our pictures will eventually be tied to some form of ad? Or is it a fun way to put two pictures into the same space?

(Speaking of “Puffing Up,” wasn’t that just to activate the extra stuff my browser needed to run the thing?)

  9. Jennifer says:

Don’t love the movements, but Getty overall is fine. I doubt it would be useful to me at Offbeat; unless I could just crop that cute little weird guy — but I could use a few at Tree Hugging.

  10. Chloe says:

Sorry, I should have been more detailed in my first comment. I use a lot of Getty Images editorial photos in Her Accessories (they have fantastic fashion show coverage) and I think this new widget will work well with that. I’m not sure how much I’ll use it for Tangled Thread though – we shall see :-)

  11. Not something that I think I would need on my blogs but I can see how this would be helpful to a lot of b5 blogs.

  12. pickel says:

    Okay, don’t need it, right?

  13. Linette says:

I think it’s kinda neat, but I always like new toys. Not completely sure I like the photo growing and shrinking, or the little guy in the corner. I like the Brad Pitt idea Julie had.

  14. I’m not really sure. I’m trying to figure out if this would be a benefit to Thrifty Mommy.

  15. Not sure in what sense the pics will improve the site. Clue me in, as I’m obviously a little slow.

  16. Gayla McCord says:

Photos such as Getty are under license. No one can use them unless they obtain rights through programs like PicApp which is being tested.

Not every blog will benefit from the program, but if the need for a professional image comes into play, the legal option is there to use one.

  17. Bald Man says:

While I like some sort of network access to licensed images, I don’t like the display. Too fancy, and the animation and that. My text is my content; images are there to augment. This distracts from my content. Plus it’s another half-dozen ways in each post for a reader to leave my blog.

Negotiate some network access to licensed images, but leave the cutsy apps out, plz.

  18. Char says:

I agree with most of the above comments. It is nice to have access to a greater database of photos, but it may take some getting used to the display.

  19. Oh! I wasn’t aware of that. That is wicked awesome! Hope it works out!!

  20. marye says:

hate the growing and shrinking too distracting

  21. Bill says:

I’m not crazy about the minimized, then enlarging images. However, in the case of use with multiple images in one little “light box” it seems cool. Do we have the option NOT to use it if it is adopted?

  22. Molly says:

Hm the picture isn’t even showing up on my computer. I missed the episode of the rachael ray talk show when Frost was on it! Anyone know when it’s gonna re-run?
