Supervision and structure for teens in the summer

teens.pngI’m still thinking about the summer child care issue for the in-between kids, those around ages 13-15, too old for daycare, too young for jobs.

There’s potentially a larger group of kids out there with a lot of idle time alone, and, that’s not always a good thing.

Formal programs such as camps can be expensive, what do working parents do?

Is it realistic to expect that young teens do volunteer work? What about doing some kind of internship, or, shadowing someone at a business?

Give us some ideas about supervision and structure for young teens in the summer.

Our church has a vacation bible school, and, it’s staffed by young teens.
