Swirl Crayons

At the request of several readers I have decided to share about my swirlie crayons today. Although, I did think they were a Crayola brand crayon, I discovered, on actually looking at them, that the brand was Colorific, which is by Sanford. I couldn’t find the exact crayons online, probably because they don’t sell them anymore. They are really called Swirl Crayons, but I dubbed them swirlies because that’s what we do here; add ‘ie‘ to the end of words. I decided to give you some samples, to see what kind of effects you can achieve with these crayons. I love the surprise I get each time I use them. Some would work better on dark or black paper, but I tend to use this top one more than any other, at the moment. Please let me know if you’d like to see more crayon colours. I’ve made these so they can link to the page on Flickr, for a closer look, if you like. There are 12 crayons in the pack.

    Hi Heather,

Thanks so much for writing about these crayons. They look like they would be so much fun to use!!! I tried doing a search for them on-line, but had no luck either. I do know there are swirl PENCIL crayons out there now. I think they are made by KOH-I-Noor.

  2. Hi Bonny,
No worries. Yes, those pencils look to be about the same kind of thing. I had a closer look at the magic colour sticks. They look like they’d be fun, too. Thanks for letting me know. ;-)

  3. Nolwenn says:

Oh it should me so much fun using these pencils ! But like Bonny, I don’t know where to find them (and I don’t know if they’re available in France).

  4. Hi Nolwenn,
Yes, they are so much fun. Although the link in the comments section, above, doesn’t lead to the exact crayons I use, I’m sure those pencils would be just as much fun. Perhaps you can buy them somewhere or even online. Let me know how you go. I can always check it out a bit more. Thanks for leaving a comment. ;-)
