Sydney’s Solar Rooftop, The Biggest

A couple of weeks back, I learnt about a factory somewhere in Sydney, Australia which is currently undergoing some sprucing up. And one of the major changes completed was the installation of the largest solar power system on a rooftop. This, of course, is the largest in the area and not necessarily in the entire world - and it is installed in the Cadbury Schweppes factory.

Experts have been estimating that the factory would be able to create 100 kW of electricity which the factory would be able to utilize for its daily operations.

Peter Garrett is the federal Environment Minister and he said, “The rooftop solar highway here at Cadbury Schweppes is truly spectacular - if you stood its 640 solar panels end to end they would tower above Sydney’s Centrepoint Tower. This is the way of the future - it’s what fighting climate change is all about.”

Amazing.
