Folks have been debating the relative merits of bottled water and tap water for more than decade, and the conversation continues. But one argument the bottled water folks can’t really counter is that tap water just does not produce the same waste that bottled water does. We talked about this yesterday when I posted some info from the Filter for Good fact sheet on bottled water.
RealAge Food Bites gives four more good reasons to drink tap water instead of bottled water:
- Tap water is tested daily.
- Tap water is a bargain.
- Tap water is a tooth saver.
- Tap water can be tasty.
Still think it’s too inconvenient? Check out the super cute water bottles from Nalgene and Klean Kanteen.

Tap, definitely. It’s free (always a plus for me) and I’m not contributing to any waste (another huge plus).
Just pay attention with the Lexan that is present within the Nalgene bottles.
Some store completely took off those bottle because it can be toxic. Some studies are to confirm this.
Oh oh, I just wrote about how much I love my Sigg metal water bottle on Europe String. It rocks, and I get to feel like I’m an environmental hero.
