Teaching Sarcasm
Technology often gets a bad rap. With instant messaging and cell phones, face-to-face conversations are a thing of the past. With video games and television, we aren’t as active as we used to be.
But there are some good things too. Like when I call my teenager who is upstairs in the kitchen and ask him to bring me down a glass of water.
Oh wait. We’re back to that lazy thing again. So anyway…
Today we were driving home when we passed some apartments near our house. My teen asked, “Are those apartments?”
I said, “Yes.”
“Well I should move in there after high school.”
“Why?”
“That way I’ll be close to you guys and I can come home to visit. Plus you can call me and be all like ‘hey can you come over and turn the channel on the TV?’”
Who taught this teen to be such a smart ass?

I use a type of sarcasm in some of my writings, being careful to be light on the variety. Humor is great medicine for the soul and this type of humor can be very fun and light-hearted in nature. As to where the kids get it, I presume from one parent or the other or both, usually! lol

I have a tween and it is a battle of wits when it comes to sarcasm. In the end I always win, or else Great story Christine!
I love your teens’ sarcasm. The younger teen in particular is quite expert at it. Isn’t is nice to know at least one of your teens wants to be close and keep looking out for you
Call them to bring you a glass of water also.
