I used to be pencil thin - everyone worried that I had an eating disorder. God I miss those days (BT) Before Twins. :)

It's nothing to take for granted and I strongly encourage anyone who sees a friend eating strangely to report it to an adult. Eating disorders can have such harmful long term effects.

My best friends neice is 11. I hate hearing her say "Do I look fat in my jeans?" - her being maybe 95 lbs - hearing about her friend crying because she's over 100 lbs - Its scary, very. She's taking on a lot, her parents arent being very responsible. Can I just throw a bubble around her? PLEASE?!

A scary subject for sure. As I watch my 9 year old edge closer to the fragile teen years, I try to instill good body in her and show her that I love my own body, as well. I have seen friends battle with their own bodies and it was horrible to witness. It is rampant and I blame the media, in part, parents and peers. It is a sick cycle.
