Telling on My Cat

Does your cat have any habits you think may be extra peculiar? Mine does. For instance, Choco never bothered my candles until I switched to soy candles. Now, when the light goes out, he’s trying to lick it up.
That’s right: My cat eats soy candles, if I’m not careful. I have to hide or cover them after use.

My cat’s other peculiar habits:
- He loves crumbs from English muffins, but not other bread. Uh, not that I feed him bread…
- He’s more afraid of compressed air (or gas dusters) than anything on this planet.
- Choco scolds me with an extended “yell” when I walk through the door after being gone for more than four hours.
- My cat will only drink water from the tub faucet.
- He has a love affair with cloth-covered ponytail holders.
Despite all that, I find his lust for soy candle wax the most peculiar habit. Does you cat try to eat your soy candles?

My cat Brownie had some pretty weird habits. He loved tomato sandwiches, but not tomatoes on their own… Weird… He would chase his own shadow or any shadows on the wall and he if he got annoyed with you, he would hit you. Not scratch you, but tap you, and usually on the nose, if he could get to it. Also he used to eat my hair. I miss him…
Sabrina, a nose-tapping, hair-eating cat. Cute. Sure he was wonderful!
My cat will only drink water from the tub or sink. She refuses to drink water from a bowl, even if it is fresh. She hangs out most of the day in my bedroom and bathroom. When the kids are gone, she comes out and prowls around the rest of the house. She is so incredibly skittish, even though we’ve had her since she was about 6-8 weeks old and she hasn’t been abused. She hates just about everyone, but she hates me the least. She just turned 2 years old and she is finally acting somewhat nice . . . sometimes. Sometimes I think she is bipolar. She hides all of her toys way up under my bed and it’s hard to get them out so that we can play with her. She likes the toys though and she likes to play, so this makes no sense to me. My cat loves ponytail holders too. She especially likes to toss them around the bathroom until they land in her drinking water in the sink.
I think my friend’s cat has the most peculiar habit. He likes to eat ear wax. If anyone scratches their ear, he comes running over to lick the wax off their finger. Gross!!!!
Karen, I think eating ear wax does win as most peculiar! Yuck, but funny too.
my old cat ate skittles, and if he didn’t like what was on the tv he’s step on the cable box to switch the channel.
Um, he’d not he’s – doh!
Jennifer, did you know that cats aren’t supposed to be able to taste sugar? It’s weird because cats do seem to like sweets. The channel switching is cool.
The only thing Choco will watch on TV is wild cats on nature shows on PBS.
we own two cats and our male will bring down differnt articles of clothing to each floor in the middle of the nite, socks, blouses, my daughters underwear.
Rosemary, Sounds like it’s time for kitty proof drawer locks
But that’s cute.
Currently, my cat is sticking his paw into the feeding hole of my supposedly cat-proof Betta fish tank.
