It’s theme day over at the Science and Health Channel for b5media. Today’s theme is a top 10 list of my choice. So my choice is….why I will be bald by the age of 40.
So let’s get started…Here is the list
- A really bad day at work – ok a somewhat mediocre day at work, has me pulling my strands of hair.
- I have no immune system – I am frequently battling viruses and other infections -so I get fevers for long periods at a time -fevers are a known cause for hair loss.
- Poor Nutrition – A balanced diet may help prevent hair loss – I definitely need to reexamine my diet
- I can not stand head massages -a scalp massage, can increase blood flow to the head. I can not have my head touched. I know it sounds weird – I can’t quite explain it
- My father is follicle challenged – hair loss is hereditary – and it doesn’t just come from the maternal side
- I don’t own any chickens
- I wear my hair in a ponytail almost everyday – hair styles where you pull the hair back and secure in elastics (such as braids or ponytails) can cause baldness
- I am iron deficient (not exactly anemic – but low on iron, just the same) – deficiency of protein and iron can cause hair loss
- Hair loss occurs for most people between the ages of 20 and 50 – I am between those ages
- I occasionally colour treat my hair – hair that has been treated chemically can react – and fall out
Are you destined for hair loss, because of how you live?

Oh dear! Great reminders of what NOT to do to our hair. :]

By the looks of this list, I will be
I’ve only hit four of your signs… I must be lucky.
Kristen,
of course there are other reasons why people lose their hair….but for me, these would happen to be the reasons (and most of them fixable) why I probably will be losing all of mine….unless I decide to change some things about my life.
I suppose I have just scared myself “straight”
Alicia,
We can support each other in operation hair growth.
We can fix our less than stellar ways, and be strong for each other….and then celebrate our new healthy ways, with something really bad for us….or perhaps a hair colour – I have always wanted to dye mine navy blue.
Bald Man,
You only have 4 of my signs????
Hmmm I have all 10…this does not look good for me.
Bald is Beautiful…
Bald is Beautiful….
Bald is Beautiful….
Haha, navy blue. Well, I’m on this whole hot pink kick after watching Rock of Love on VH-1. I loved Jess’s hair.
Pink would be cute – and its super cool right now.
I love navy blue, because when it starts to fade – I would look like a slightly evil looking easter egg.
Does someone need to know how hair transplants work? I found out at zieringmedical.com
