That One Line in “Knocked Up”

I watched Knocked Up this weekend and was shocked when Allison Scott’s (Katherine Heigl of Grey’s Anatomy) mother told her to take care of the situation but never, in words told her to have an abortion. (Never once in the movie to they mention the “A” word, BTW) Her mother then went on to say that her step-sister had an abortion and was then able to have a “real” child.

So, what is a real child? One like Pinocchio?
