The 5 Year Old Pokemon Queen

Recently I have been teasing my son. In his efforts of being a nice big brother and being super patient with his youngest sister, he has inadvertently created a monster of sorts. See, Miss N is very bright and has an amazing little memory, and she can navigate a game of Pokemon Pearl and Pokemon Diamond with the best of them. Same goes for Webkinz online world and the Transformers the Game for PS2. When it comes to trading characters, rare items and going to battle, this kid can seriously hang with the big boys.

As I type this, she is on the phone with a good family friend – who happens to be an almost 9 year old boy – talking video games. They are both playing the same game online, trading items and strategizing. Oh my!! And I wonder why the Kindergarten day just doesn’t do much for her?? Yikes.

Guess what she is getting in her stocking? Some Pokemon cards. She has decided that she is not content just playing against the boys on their DS, she now wants to be able to trade cards and build her own collection. All this from a tiara wearing, doll toting, girly girl.

So, basically, she has similar conversations to those of my 22-year-old husband. It sounds like he has a new kindred spirit!

I love it!! She sounds like a GEM!! There is no greater shame then having a Girl beat the pants off a boy in a video game LOL!!
