The Alzheimer’s Early Onset Project – Submission Guidelines.

THE EARLY ONSET PROJECT SUBMISSIONS AND CONTEST ANNOUNCEMENT (No Entry Fee)

The Early Onset Project seeks true stories about persons with early-onset Alzheimer’s. Early-onset Alzheimer’s or early-onset dementia develops in a person who is younger than age 65.

Entries should be compelling slice-of-life stories that show how early-onset Alzheimer’s or a related dementia has affected you or someone close to you. Authors of stories selected for the collection will receive a free copy of the publication. No other payment
will be made. Stories submitted for The Early Onset Project are automatically entered into a contest.

First Prize – $100
Second Prize – $50
Third Prize – $25
Honorable Mention – $10

Story Guidelines

• The story must be an original unpublished work.
• The submission must be a true story about a person with early-onset Alzheimer’s or related disorder and should focus on an event rather than be biographical.
• Authors may submit more than one story for consideration, but only one prize will be awarded per author.
• Stories must not exceed 2,500 words.
• A panel of judges will select contest winners and stories for the collection. The decision of the judges is final.
• Stories deemed to be fiction will be disqualified for prizes and will not be included in the collection.
• Submission deadline is June 30, 2008.
• Failure to follow submission guidelines found on the project website at www.lsfisher.com may result in disqualification.
• Stories that include personally identifiable information must have a signed release if selected for publication.
