The Artistic Spectrum is the name of an exhibition of artwork of young people aged 10-21 with an autism spectrum disorder. The exhibition will be held from March 19th to April 24th at the Jewish Community Center at 334 Amsterdam Avenue, at 76th Street in Manhattan. Today, April 6th, there’s a Family Art Day (from 10am – 2pm) and on Thursday, April 10th, there’s a Lit Café featuring writers on the autism spectrum:
- Amy Gravino, student and author of the forthcoming The Naughty Autie: Not Your (Neuro)typical Dating Guide!, a book about dating and sexuality for adults and young adults on the autism spectrum
- Jason Ross, Adaptations member, poet, and blogger
- Cliff Schumacher, student and blogger
- Leigh Silver, Adaptations member and author of a book on baseball
- Jacob Artson will read via a live feed from LA
My friend MothersVox and I will also be speaking; the MC for this neurodiverse event is blogger Kim Stagliano. I’ll be reading something from my very much in progress book.
Also: On April 16, comedian Elijah Wapner will perform and the MTV “True Life” series and Autism: The Musical will be screened, and there will be a Q & A session with director Tricia Regan.
Contact Beth Rosenberg for more details and hope to see you there.

Congrats on the book reading. Have fun!

Really?
Wonderful! Let us know how this goes!
Some might use other words to describe the event, but the neurodiversity (whether or not one uses the term) speaks for itself!
Kim Staglioni is the MC? Did her writing on Huffpo become magically sanitised? Alison Tepper Singer Mark II perhaps?
It’s the four younger writers whose event this truly is—-I’m honored that I was asked, but as a mother I’m glad to cede the floor.
