People with traits that would today be described as autistic have existed since ancient times, and until quite recently, most autistics were integrated into society like everyone else and were not "dependent on the U.S. taxpayers for support and care." I'm glad there are better services nowadays, but all of that apocalyptic talk has no basis in reality. I’m glad there are better services nowadays, but all of that apocalyptic talk has no basis in reality.

If the autism rate is 1 in 100, that means there "should be" 99 adult "workers" to support 1 adult "autistic" individual. How many workers are there to support each retiree?
