The best Veggie Chic posts of 2006
It’s time for Theme Day (hosted at Breastfeeding123.com) again here at the b5 Science & Health channel, and today we’re talking about our favorite posts from 2006. I just started writing on Veggie Chic in October, so I only have three months to look back on, but still there were a couple posts that managed to bring back fond memories.
-
In October I addressed the Protein Myth in two posts on the subject. Clearly the myth is still far from unbroken, though, and just the other day I had someone ask me “but how do you get enough protein?” It was all I could do to not roll my eyes at her.
-
In November I did a lot of vegetarian food tourism, eating my way through Zurich, Milan, and Japan. I also experimented a lot in the kitchen, learning the joys of foods from soy cappuccino to vegan cheese .
-
In December I talked about why veganism appeals to me, had fun with roasted peppers and truffle oil, and got some great gifts to liven up my vegetarian kitchen. We also had a good laugh over a minister who thinks soy can make you gay (note: it can’t).
It was a fun three months for me, and I’m excited to continue blogging about vegetarianism in the coming year. Writing Veggie Chic has prompted me to become better-informed about nutrition and be more adventurous with my diet. Plus it has allowed me to connect with readers and other bloggers – good things all around!
