The Booty Call

Just how many women condone, engage, engineer, orchestrate a booty call? Hmmm. I’m not going to ask the guys, I’m sure they won’t come rushing in and admitting to the act. Hahaha. No offence. Come to think of it, will the women admit to it, too? ;)

Sometime ago, Grins visited us here at Dating Dames, who happens to have posted a rather interesting entry about Boomerang Booty Calls. When I read it, I knew it’s something that I have to write about and share with the rest of you guys.

What is a Booty Call?

A booty call is a telephone call, other communication, or visitation made with the sole intent of achieving sex with the person being contacted. Traditionally this phenomenon, especially the term booty call, is associated with a man calling the woman for a sexual encounter after having already established either a casual or more serious relationship involving sexual relations.Wikipedia

You got it right. There’s a wiki entry on it. Hahaha.

Anyway, if you grew up in a conservative country like mine, you’d think these things don’t happen. Even the topic of sex is taboo. If you as much as mention the word, you’ll be labeled as a wild, loose girl.. ah, yea — a slut in brief. Heh.

But tides change as the country turns global, and this topic will not be a rarity as it once was. Admittedly, like Grins, I’ve also been at the other end of the call quite a few times. And it pisses me off when it happens. It’s such a low blow. But I know I’m not alone on this. Grins’ post assures me of it.

It’s also true that even when you shut them down on each attempt, they’ll continue to try and “test the waters”. Uh — like I’m stupid enough not to get it? Duh.

Note: If that ‘friend’ often calls you in the middle of the night to ‘get together’, it usually means, more often than not, it’s a booty call.

Now, are you the recipient of such calls? How do you handle it when it does happen? Do you know other people who are? What about booty callers? Like what Grins asked her readers, why do you think they do it?

I must ask if you seriously don’t know what a booty call is? It is kinda obvious, especially from Grins post about it too…”I was lonely….I missed you….my bed is empty…wanna help warm it up *wink wink* *nudge nudge*” ;)

And, um, yeah I’ve done them….but none of the last minute ones. Had a few times where each party knew what it was, both parties had a good time, and hooked up again one time after.

    That is all I’ll say.

I do know what it is. I did say in my post that I did get a few booty calls, right? :)

  3. Van says:

Yes, you did say that, but the no observant person I am, I didn’t see it till after my comment. Sorry. Teehee.

I’ve turned down many booty calls too. I had one idiot call after not talking to me for two months, after I called him on a lie he told me after only a few dates. Then he expected me to want to have dinner with him and probably…well you know. I called him on the same lie again and he just wouldn’t talk about it. I wanted to reach through the phone and rip him to shreds he was a selfish ahole.

They do have that trait in common, don’t they? Hahaha. They even have the audacity to ‘get mad’ and make you feel guilty about calling them out. Heh.

Good riddance to them all! Yech. ;)

They do have that trait in common. I didn’t feel guilty and it just proved my point that he was an idiot and a lier

I’m sure you’re on your way to forgetting about him. ;)

Those kind of men aren’t worth crap.

I think there was a teen movie about this topic… something with 10 Days or 10 Things…

There is always been booty calls in those so-called conservative places except that “only the rightheous privledged can do that”. That holds true to this day. Country clubs, churches, bars, barbershops, and those 4 p.m.10 p.m. restaurants. Most who go to those things are considered the righteous elites. The others, well.
