The Clean Up Game

If you have children, you probably have the Barney song running through your head right now. You remember right? “Clean up, clean up, everybody everywhere…..” Well Barney had the right idea when it came to getting your kids to clean up.
One thing that works really well with getting your kids to clean up is to set a timer for 5 minutes and make it a game. There are days when it is time for bed and I look around at our living room and gasp. But all I have to do to get it back in ship shape is set the timer and tell them to see if they can round-up everything that is theirs and put it back where it belongs before the timer goes off.
It’s a challenge for them and my kids love a challenge! Yes, they have figured out that I am making them clean up, but it’s so much more fun when you’re trying to beat the clock!
