The creeping of the pounds…

As you might remember, I had a virtually-based hissy fit the last time I went to the doctor’s office because I had gained a little weight and was at my heaviest in several years.

But I dealt with it.  I did.  Or I tried to.  Then came Thursday… 24 hours ago…

Yesterday, I went to the doctor again after a couple weeks of feeling yucky and not having much of an appetite.  And yes, I was sick in the head enough to cockily want that extra weight to have disappeared.

Much to my dismay, MORE weight had piled on.  Consequently, the talk with my family physician turned to the possibility of hypothyroidism, which, though controllable, wouldn’t be fun.

Bloodwork was drawn today.

Ain’t life funny?

The gal who would surely have been considered pro-ana in high school may have hypothyroidism in her mid-30s.  Oh, the irony!

  1. Oh, Angelique I hope your blood work results are positive. Positive as in “you’re completely healthy!” and NOT positive as in “you have hypothyroidism.”

Good luck, and please keep us updated!

My bloodwork came back a-okay. But now that brings more worries… is it just the creeping of age? :)

  3. Awesome!

Maybe you’re building muscle – do you work out? They say it weighs more. I am completely useless when it comes to such information, haha, but that’s what I hear all the time.

Yeah…that comment just made me realize, for the ninety millionth time, how badly I need to start working out.
