The Dangers of PVC at Tree Hugging Family

Tree Hugging Family has a great post on the dangers of PVC (polyvinyl chloride) and its use in common consumer products.

When children chew on vinyl toys like rubber ducks, they can be exposed to dangerous phthalates. PVC also gives the gift of dioxins when it is produced, recycled or burned. Dioxins are bad, bad.

You can read more about the health and environmental dangers of PVC at www.besafe.net, a website of the Center for Health, Environment and Justice (CHEJ).

Apparently several large companies are planning to phase out PVC  in consumer products. This post is well worth the read as it is informative, to-the-point and has links to some great resources.
