The Effects of Green Tea

Before I start, let me issue a warning. This post has everything to do with rodents – it is not a scientific experiment. I have no published data to back me up. This is a second hand rendition of an actual happening. This story belongs to a friend of mine, and I have been given permission to write it up.
When one lives in a apartment that is situated near a restaurant (either above it, or next door) – chances are at some point, you will have a problem with rodents. Even the cleanest of places will have this problem.
A friend of mine lives in one of these apartments – and has had a bit of a rodent problem. I am not sure the extent of the damage, but I do know that one mouse, is one mouse too many. It sounds like there are a few of them making themselves at home in his apartment.
The mice had gotten into the pantry, and gnawed their way through most of the cupboards – boxes, bags, and cans of food have been destroyed. These mice even got into the green tea. From what I understand, they ingested quite a lot of it.
Now here is where it gets interesting. Poison was laid out all over the apartment. But these mice didn’t die. The poison didn’t affect them. The poison was/is poisonous – believe me, there is proof on that. We believe that it’s the green tea that kept them alive – and happy. In case you are wondering, why it is we think this to be true – well the last word from the mice, was green.
I will be increasing my intake of green tea, from now on. I am on the Yerba Mate tea kick – which by the way, I am loving – but will be adding a cup or 2 of green tea, to my diet. If it can do that for mice, think what it can do for us!

The best green tea I have had contains little bits of baked rice. It smells like rice bubbles (er, do you have those, or similar in canada? it’s a breakfast cereal), and tastes great! I think it’s called genmaicha
I am not sure. The whole green tea culture is still fairly new to me. I will be looking out for it though.
Thanks for the tip on the tasty tea.
hi. interesting….. i’m drinking more green tea but i also did drink green tea. i enjoy it better than black tea, in taste for me… thanks for the article..
Betty,
glad to know that you enjoying the green tea.
I enjoy a cup of tea in the afternoon, and while I have been making the switch from lady grey or lavender tea to yerba mate, I have not quite gotten the hang of drinking green tea regularly. Right now, its basically whenever I go out for sushi.
I haven’t been so great at following my promise of drinking green tea everyday. But, I will make sure that I have some today for sure.
green tea makes you slimmer, that’s what i read from a newspaper
