Yes Sir… committees, reports, financials, preservation of history, appointments, commitments, etc.
How many of you have seen the upside down pyramid? Do you know that AA members actually are the final voice for whatever happens in AA? Yes, that’s you!
Sadly, for me < please note, I heard this weekend that the GSR’s are the most important people in Alcoholics Anonymous. My perception of that is that we will still do anything to accomplish what we want to accomplish which includes manipulating egos to garner votes.
GSR’s have an invaluable responsibility to Alcoholics Anonymous. That responsibility is to bring the voice of AA, your voice, to a meeting such as I attended this past weekend. That still leaves you, the members, as the most important people in AA. Despite the suits and ties on the dais.
More to come…

This looks like a great thread ! I also believe that GSR’s are the real key to the groups opinions being heard. They are also very valuable for letting everyone else in their districts/areas know what type of service work their members are doing like taking meetings to treatment centers, etc.
I’m looking forward to more in this thread Mark, and thanks for all your great posts !
Working on a new draft now John
Thanks for the kudos!
